If you are like me, you are sick of nothing but review articles, what I learned in 2023 articles and what my goals for 2024 are articles. I know, mega yawn. This is not one of those.
So, how was your break? I read an article recently that stated the time between Christmas and New Year is a dead week. I have to agree; I never wrote anything. I chilled, watched shit television, and tried to stop eating random leftover food.
What I did do was read. I didn't stop, and it was bliss. The collage above shows the books I received for Christmas; as you can see, my family know me well, and I have my reading sorted for the year.
Which was when I stumbled on the idea to create a newsletter for readers. A bookworm corner where we can chat, recommend and talk about books. The Book Chronicle is just that. It is the newsletter that I want to read.
So here is hoping that all of you read some brilliant books this year, that you have a good year full of health and laughs and that your writing progresses as you hoped.
If you enjoy this email, please share it so more readers can find it.
Until next week stay safe

Weekly Three
Three recommendations to check out to make you a better creative.
1. In The Shadow of Rainbows: A Collection of Songs of Presence - Selma Martin. This is such a beautiful collection of poems. They are filled with the wonder of the world. In her introduction, the author asks you to pick the one poem that is yours. I failed. I couldn’t cut this impressive collection down to one; try it and see if you can.
2. Ream Creator Platform. This year, I am taking part in the Bradbury 52 Challenge. It is the task of writing a weekly short story for people to enjoy. The theory is that at least a handful should be fantastic. For this, I have been getting to grips with a new platform called Ream. If you are an author, it is Patreon for writers.
3. The Last Conversation I Had With a Dying Friend - Edward Anderson. Ed is my partner in crime. We talk every day. This is a beautiful, heartbreaking account of his conversation with his friend. Here, Ed talks about friendship, regret, and grief. It is a masterpiece.
