This week has been a bit hellish, with the whole family having Covid. So you will forgive me if this is a shorter than usual email.
It is times like this that I wish I had a better plan of what to publish and maybe some sick leave articles in the ether, but that was not so. Planning is good no matter what you write.
You should have a plan when writing a novel or at least a few plot points to your story, even if this is a couple of lines for each chapter. Have a plan, no matter how minimal.
You must tie up all the loose ends when you get to the end of your story. You need to answer all the mysteries and questions asked. If you think of making this a series, leave enough to keep your audience wanting more.
I did this for my last crime novel, The Retribution Killer. I finished the story but left enough that I can if I ever want to revisit the characters.
If you enjoy this email, please share it so more readers can find it. You can find my reading journey on Ko-Fi.
Until next week stay safe
Sam 😊
