🧑💻 Consistency is the Key to Good Writing
Growth is possible regardless of how often you post.
Listening today to a podcast from the Daily Stoic, I was drawn to the idea of consistency in writing and how this impacts us who write as a side hustle.
You will have heard that to succeed, you must publish five times a week or write 10,000 words. But this is not always the case.
If you publish five times a week, your growth will be quick. That is common sense. The more articles you have, the more people read you.
However, if you publish once a week, you will not grow?
This is rubbish; yes, your growth will not be so quick, but you will still grow with one article a week or 2000 words of your novel. It will take longer, but the growth is still possible.
Slow progress might be preferable within the realm of writing a novel because, over time, you will increase your life experiences and have more time to think about your characters and know them better. Your writing will improve because of it.
The one person you will beat if you go for the slow growth option is the person who burned themselves out by posting five times a week, who couldn't keep it up and then stopped publishing altogether.
Consistency will beat quantity at any time. If you are in this position and can only write once a week, keep going. Showing up and putting the work in will get you where you want, even if it takes longer.

Until next week stay safe
