If you read any post on improving your followers, the advice appears to be to post more. I am not always sure this is correct. What I would say is to post consistently. Try for the same day on the same topic.Â
When we talk about having a consistent publishing schedule, some tips and tricks can help you achieve this, especially if you have a family and a full-time job to fit in as well.Â
Push yourself - Have a clear idea of the goals you want to achieve and push yourself to achieve them. It is too easy to put off writing that article if you don’t have clear goals you want to achieve.Â
Plan - Have a clear publishing schedule so you know which articles must be written and when. With four newsletters, I know which days I publish and which platforms. This keeps me accountable and writing.Â
Write a daily series - It does not need to be 2000 words every week. I know several writers who have made a promising career out of publishing 200 words a day. Seth Godin is extremely popular, and this is the strategy he uses.Â
Repurpose old content - You don’t always need to reinvent the wheel. Maybe you wrote something you can clean up and publish from years ago, or is there an article on another site you can bring across?
Have an idea factory - Always add to your ideas folder so you always have something to write.Â
These are the basics of how I accomplish writing four times a week, have three kids and have a full-time job. My bonus tip and I have mentioned this before, is that I write many of my first drafts on my phone in snatches of minutes here and there.Â
Before I go, I mentioned last week when I went down my Donna Tartt rabbit hole. Well, the article that this trip inspired will be published on Monday, so subscribe here so you don’t miss it.
Until next week stay safe

Weekly Three
When Coppola got the role as director for THe Godfather he was relatively unheard of. He knew he had to make a good impression so he designed a note taking system to aid this. In this video he shows you how he designed and used it.
Victorian Secrets, Stephen Fry - Fry has a voice that you lulls you into a story, especially for me as this series is all about Victorian London a place that has fascinated me for years. In this series, Fry deals with all aspects of the time period. The original idea for my Murder Mayhem UK article, this week, came from there.
3 of Seneca’s Metaphors for Taking Notes, Noted - There are two things in this world that I love, reading about Stoicism and note taking so this article was a must read for me. Noted is one of my favourite Substack publications, so be sure to check out all they have on offer.
