This week has been a week of new adventures. I saw an interview with Ryan Holiday, who said that as you grow your following, you need to say yes to everything that comes your way. When you have a following, you need to learn to say no.
As I would not consider myself to have a massive following, I am on the yes stage of my life. Don't tell the kids it does not work with them. They still get no. 😂
My first massive yes was to post videos on TikTok. I have had the channel for a while, but this week, I have posted several times. It started awfully, and I hated it, but I have to say, three videos in, and it is getting easier.
The second yes was to join my two writing friends on a live to discuss the Jimmy Hoffa case, and this was so much fun. It felt like I was chatting with a couple of friends; it didn't really feel like a live at all. Sorry, I forgot you were there if you joined us.
This has given me the enthusiasm to start my next project, introducing live chats to my Book Chronicles channel. If you are like me and devour BookTok and YouTube content on books, then this will be for you: two friends sitting down and discussing books.
If you want to grow a following, you must say yes to more. Some of it will work, and some of it may not, but the fun is in trying.

Reading Life
This week, I just finished Persuasion by Jane Austin, which is not one of my favourite Austin books.
I then started reading The Secret Life of Wilkie Collins by William M. Clarke, which my sister bought me for my May reading. I can tell you that the man had a very unconventional yet interesting life as a Victorian gentleman.
With my daughter, I have started on the second in the Pages and Co series: Tilly and the Lost Fairytales by Anna James. I will say that if you have children, this is one of the best series I have read. Think Inkheart for a slightly younger audience.
What are you saying yes to this week? Tell me in the comments.
Remember, read to learn. Read to escape. Read to smile.
Sam😊
