This is a very quick email before I take the children out to start enjoying their Christmas. We have a few family traditions, small gift boxes that contain Christmas PJs and a book.
My favourite tradition is the yearly rendition of The Night Before Christmas, which I read to the children.
I hope that you all have a wonderful festive time. If Christmas is not your thing, I hope it goes quickly, and you have more laughs than you thought.
A massive thank you for all your support, the lovely emails you sent me, and your continued interest in what I write. I can't wait to show you what I have planned for 2024.
If you fancy a read over the holiday period, please check out my new short story, The Abandoned Fairground. It is one of the best things I have written for a long time.
If you enjoy this email, please share it so more readers can find it.
Until next week stay safe
Sam 😊
Quote of the week
I hope that real love and truth are stronger in the end than any evil or misfortune in the world. ~ Charles Dickens

A little backstory to go with this story.
My eldest daughter has ASD, and she likes nothing more than taking a train ride in the holidays. I spotted this field on the ride, going through the country towards my favourite place, Dungeness.
Some of the images used in this story are the ones I took that day. Others come from my parents, who went on a fact-finding mission for me.Â
I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Merry Christmas, Sam.
