✍️ I Killed NaNoWriMo
Drum roll, please; by the time you read this email, I will have written a massive 50,000 words participating in NaNoWriMo.
I must confess when I heard other people talking about the November writing contest. I thought they were all mad. Then a friend persuaded me that you could set your own goals and that it was a fun community.
I have to say it has been life-changing. I firmly believe this novel would never have seen the light of day had I not taken part this year. It has been an idea bubbling for over a year since my partner and I mapped the whole thing out during one weekend. Now it is almost finished.
It is not just the word count I am grateful for, but the passion it has reignited in this book. I had forgotten how good it was. That might sound like boasting, but as writers, we sometimes need to sing our own praises.
As a sneak preview, I will give you the book title and little else. Although the Water Plague might change, this is the working title at the moment.
Have you taken part in NaNoWriMo this year? If so, how are you going?
If you enjoy this email, please share it so that more readers can find it.
Until next week stay safe
Sam 😊
