🤦🏻♀️ I Over Committed Again
Happy holidays if you are a teacher. I am now enjoying a blissful week with the children and no marking.
I am very guilty of taking too much on with my writing. I try to be everything on every platform. It doesn’t work. It has taken me almost five years to work that out. Still, I am over-committing and spending so many hours keeping my presence on these sites that I forget to write.
This is even more noticeable now when I work more hours than ever with my tutoring business.
The other factor that drives me is I want to offer quality in everything I do. I want my readers to gain an advantage from what I offer, so I have tried working on a system of individualised content for every platform.
It is also inevitable that some sites will fade away as I concentrate on writing again—this time, my new true crime book, a story of the famous criminals Broadmoor Mental Hospital has housed.
So this is the system I have come up with if you would be interested in any of the content I offer there.
My Murder Mayhem UK brand has four strands to it. First, there is the initial site and newsletter that send you a crime article to your email. I also have a dedicated Facebook group for discussing cases, Instagram for crime scene photos and TikTok if you prefer your clips in video form.
Twitter will be my home for random thoughts and observations on the books I read as I read them. On Ko-fi, I include my journey with books.
My Facebook page will be where I put all my article links, regardless of genre and platform. I am considering giving up Facebook altogether as the reach and engagement are awful, but for now, I will stick it out.
I am sure this will change again in a matter of weeks, but this is the plan for now.
If you are on any of these sites, reply and let me know. I will follow you to see what you are doing.
Take care all, happy writing
Sam
