Balancing content creation with a full-time job isn’t easy, but here’s the system that stopped me from burning out. The key is recycling content so it works harder for you.
This month I am posting more frequently to TikTok and Instagram to see if I can grow a bigger following on both channels. At the same time, I have gone back to my main job now that the summer holidays are over, so you can imagine the increase in workload has been huge.
At first, it started to stress me out. Then I came across a way to make it more manageable. I realised I could use the article I write each week as the basis for my other two pieces of content.
Here’s an example.
This week I published an article about the books I love across popular genres. The article goes into detail about the titles and why I enjoy them. From this, I used the book covers to create a carousel of images for Instagram. Then I ran the same images through a simple program that stitched them into a short video for TikTok.
You can see all three pieces of content here:

There is no point in reinventing the wheel. If you make your content stretch further, you can keep up with building a following across more than one platform without feeling overwhelmed.
Do you recycle your content across platforms or create everything separately? I’d love to hear how you approach it in the comments.
Remember, read to learn. Read to escape. Read to smile.

This is something I do too, and it’s amazing how much more your articles can create. A video, and shorts from that video too, for instance. Also recycling existing content as more updates come along with new research, for instance. You can build a great archive and have a lot of content to play with.
