Having a family where two of your children have additional needs is hard. One of my ambitions has been to homeschool them. My eldest has smashed primary school, but in two years she will need to progress to secondary school. I teach in secondary schools and I know she is not going to find this easy — hence the homeschooling.
However, to homeschool, I have to be able to support myself and give up teaching, and that is not easy.
So last month I talked with myself and decided I have two years to kick arse and make a side hustle into a full-time living. Writing at home and homeschooling is something I can achieve.
My main love is Murder Mayhem UK and this is where the majority of my growth is going to be centred. I have already added a podcast to the page so if you prefer your crime and history via this format, then check it out.
My other love has always been books, but my book content never took off here. That is a me problem, because others have been very successful on Substack with book content. For me, I am going to share my book content on both Instagram and YouTube, and Patreon — visual formats work better for this. This month I launched Sam’s Escape Shelf.
I have two years to make a living, and although that is terrifying, it is also strangely exhilarating.
