Paying It Forward - Your Writing Questions Answered
I was lucky to have mentors when I started; now I’m opening the floor to help you find your voice.
Substack released a wealth of new features this month, including drop caps and templates. Although, I welcome belonging to a progressive platform that adds new features all the time a drop capital is not going to get your readers and subscribers.
Do you know what will?
Quality writing resonates with your readers. Whether you write about history, as I do, or the mating cycle of a tortoise as long as people are interested they will subscribe.
Many marketers will tell you they can train you to do this, but I am here to tell you that writing should be a passion and you improve the more you do it. Still want to learn more then find a free YouTube video or buy a book.
Having said that I am sure there are questions that niggle at you. That was when I started and I was lucky enough to have two amazing mentors who answered my mundane questions for free, when I started on Medium. Shout out to Author Ed Anderson and Nicole Akers .
I am also here to answer the questions that niggle so hit reply to this email and ask away. I will answer as many as I can, and in the next newsletter do a round-up for you all.
So whether it’s about books, writing, Substack, or history and crime hit reply and ask away.
The only stupid question is the one not asked
Until next time: Find the time, find the words, find the way.
Sam 😊
