I’m Sam H Arnold — a writer, teacher, and mum of three (two with additional needs), navigating life one story at a time.
I specialise in true crime and historical narratives, blending meticulous research with compelling storytelling. I’m also the creator of Murder Mayhem UK, a blog where I dig deep into some of the most chilling and fascinating criminal cases, past and present. If you enjoy real stories with sharp insight and historical depth, you’ll feel right at home.
My books cover everything from Victorian murderers to modern-day serial killers. Titles like Jack the Ripper: Theories and Conspiracies and British Serial Killers have established my voice in true crime literature. My latest nonfiction release, No Honour in Victory is a brutal, unflinching account of the lesser-known atrocities of World War committed by the Japanese Imperial Army.
I’ve also crossed into fiction. My crime novel The Retribution Killer is a dark, psychological thriller, while The Water Plague, my newest release, is a dystopian story that explores how society collapses when trust in institutions breaks down.
When I’m not writing, I’m teaching full time and wrangling a busy family life. It’s messy, chaotic, and often hilarious and I share that side too. My aim is to be real about what it takes to write while managing a household, a job, and everything else life throws at you. If you’re a fellow writer or just curious how the creative and the personal collide, I offer tips, tricks, and honest reflections on making it all work.
Thanks for visiting. Stick around whether you’re here for the crime, the chaos, or the creativity, or fun parenting stories. I’ve got stories to tell.
